INDIO – David Waknine knows when he steps back into the ring, he won’t be the same fighter he was the last time he laced up the gloves, but his performance is not his main priority.
Waknine decided to return to the ring to honor his beloved trainer, and answer questions in his own mind about what could have been.
Originally, the 45-year-old Waknine is scheduled to make his debut at the Desert Showdown on Saturday at Fantasy Springs. Waknine is using the amateur showdown to prepare for a professional debut, and will have a film crew follow his exploits for a documentary titled “One More Round.”
